In 1973, Sister Elaine Mitchell was in a three-way tie for International Poet Laureate. We are still empowered by her preaching through poetry. And so, today we call upon the educators, artists, and preachers — Biblical Scholar Sister Barbara Reid, Poet Laureates Miya Angelou and Amanda Gordon, Bishop Mariann Budde – and women everywhere – to use their voices to change conversations from hate and oppression to Love and Justice.
