IHM Sisters, March 12: connecting in today’s world, sharing initiatives that make a difference
Fifty-two weeks a year, women religious stand with the poor and immigrants, teach children, fight injustice, heal the sick, share spirituality, empower women, defend the planet, promote peace and create community. But for one week, March 8-14, the spotlight shines on them. We invite you to help celebrate National Catholic Sisters Week.
Beginning on March 8, we will highlight how IHM Sisters connect in today’s world and share initiatives that make a difference. We invite you to engage with them in your own way #CatholicSistersWeek #CelebratingTraditions #ChangingtheWorld

In an interdependent world, IHMs know the value of connecting with others. IHM Sisters understand that they cannot do this alone. Over the years, they have embraced relationships with Associates and the expertise of staff. Partnering with others, they address the issues of global concern, justice, peace, and sustainability.
Sister Rebecca Vonderhaar, or Sister Becky, is just one example of IHM’s associations with nonprofits. She is actively involved with Strangers No Longer (SNL), a network of Circles of Support formed in Catholic parishes, congregations and immigrant communities to support our immigrant neighbors. SNL advocates for a comprehensive and humane immigration policy. Sister Becky shares, “Let the God of ALL continue to be our guide as we attempt to reclaim God’s dream that we all may be ONE.”
