Stuff the Truck to End Hunger
The Catholic religious sisters in the Toledo Diocese are sponsoring “Stuff the Truck to End Hunger” by collecting non-perishable food items to benefit the Toledo Seagate Food Bank during Catholic Sisters Week, March 8 – 12. The Catholic Sisters are inviting friends to come together to held end hunger in our community.
The collection of food items is a collaborative effort to serve persons in need and bring much needed awareness to the current increase in food insecurity and underlying causes, such as the COVID -19 pandemic, poverty, unemployment/under-employment, and inconsistent access to healthy food. People are hurting and we can make a difference.
The food drive in sponsored by the Sisters of Notre Dame of the United States and supported by the Ursuline Sisters, Sisters of Mercy, Sylvania Franciscan Sisters, and the Visitation Sisters.
The on-site food drive will take place on Friday, March 11, 2022, at Walt Churchill’s Market, 3320 Briarfield Blvd., Maumee, OH, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sisters, Associates and students will be one hand throughout the day to greet customers and help “stuff the truck.” Suggested items include canned fruit and vegetables, dry pasta, canned tuna, peanut butter, canned soup, granola bars, beans, hot chocolate packets.
Thank you to all who have brought donations to the Ursuline Convent Offices prior to the March 11 on-site event. Those items will be delivered to Walt Churchill’s and “stuffed” in the truck.
Any help with this collection is most appreciated and we ask God’s blessing upon you for whatever you are able to contribute.
