The Congregation of Our Lady of the Cenacle (Cenacle Sisters) was founded for pilgrims, along the way. Originating in France, the Cenacle Sisters NAP have been in North America, cooperating with the Holy Spirit for the transformation of human hearts, since 1892. While they no longer operate any retreat centers in the United States, they still provide spiritual direction, spiritually enriching programs, and retreats for the people of our time. This vocation of transforming human hearts for spiritual renewal challenges the Sisters to search for the roots of injustice and hatred and war, evils which spring from human hearts. As they allow God’s love to transform their own hearts and lives, they become more sensitive to the poor and oppressed upon whom injustice weighs so heavily. Their response has been and continues to be a willingness to do what they can to alleviate these evils, to engage in the struggle for justice in all ways which are consonant with their vocation.
